Self-acclaimed financial and relationship coach Emmanuel Prosper Obruste, popularly known as GehGeh, has apologized to Nigerians after secretly tying the knot, following widespread backlash over his long-standing criticism of marriage.
GehGeh married his partner in a private ceremony on Saturday, July 25, 2026, with videos from the event showing his bride feeding him while another clip captured him dancing as the MC repeatedly chanted in Yoruba, "GehGeh gbemi debe."
His wedding quickly sparked reactions online because he had consistently advised men against getting married through his "GehGeh School of Marriage," where he often described marriage as a scam and a financial mistake.
The wedding came just days after GehGeh claimed publicly that he had four baby mamas and no woman in his life.
As criticism mounted, the internet personality released a humorous apology video, admitting he did not practice the advice he had been giving others.
"Nigerians, abeg, make una forgive me. I be hypocrite. I know say I no dey practice wetin I dey preach. Abeg, make una find somewhere for una heart take forgive me."
He also appealed to men who said his teachings ruined their relationships to reconcile with their partners.
"To those of you wey my advice don spoil your relationship, abeg, go back, go beg your girlfriend and your wife make she take you back."
Addressing women, GehGeh urged them to forgive their partners if they returned to apologize, insisting he was responsible for misleading them.
In another humorous twist, he jokingly claimed the wedding videos were generated using artificial intelligence.
"Nigerian women are using AI to edit men into marriage."
He also mocked men blaming him for their failed relationships, arguing that no one abandons a truly valuable partner because of another person's opinion.
"Your ex dey valuable to you, na im you dump her in the first place. No man go leave valuable woman because of wetin another man talk."
On X, he further dismissed claims that he destroyed people's relationships, writing:
"The relationship no fess strong before."
Several celebrities reacted to the wedding, including Evan Okoro, Cute Abiola, Tunde Ednut, Salo, Tunde Perry, Daddy Freeze, and Carter Efe.
Evan Okoro, who previously blamed GehGeh's teachings for the collapse of her marriage, expressed disbelief, while Cute Abiola joked that he was grateful he had stopped following GehGeh's relationship advice before it affected his own life.
